Establishment of the Brotherhood
St. George Adult Brotherhood was established on 1 May 2016, under the guidance and supervision of Fr. Maher Gorial, the parish priest at the time. The brotherhood was founded three months after the opening of the church. It initially consisted of 40 members, under the responsibility of the brothers George Khoshaba, Haitham Younan, and Baher Qoda.
Brotherhood meetings were suspended during the COVID-19 pandemic; however, lectures continued online via Zoom, under the guidance of Fr. Sand Paulos. Meetings resumed and were renewed with the arrival of Fr. Hani Abd Al-Ahad in 2022. The brotherhood continues to operate under the guidance and leadership of Msgr. Paul Mingana, the parish priest, with responsibility entrusted to Deacon Evangelist Caesar Youkhana, Deacon Wael Sito, and Baher Qouda.
Name of the Brotherhood
The brotherhood adopted the name of the church as its own, so that the name would reflect the members’ love for and belonging to the church that unites them in a spirit of love and sincerity.
